Come to Quiltropolis, Meet Writers
The Iowa Writers’ Collaborative, of which I am a proud member, is throwing a shindig in Quiltropolis, er, Winterset, on Saturday, July 26. All paid subscribers are invited.

Here’s the schedule:
Saturday, July 26
3 to 5 pm: private screening of the excellent documentary film "Storm Lake" at the Iowa Theater, free to IWC writers and all PAID subscribers. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with guest of honor Art Cullen, moderated by Julie Gammack. Free popcorn, paid concessions. (Non-paid, i.e., free subscribers and public members can attend for a mere $20.)
By the way, “The Iowa” pops Iowa-grown popcorn, with real butter on tap. Locals know that when the marquee is flashing, they can pull up to the curb, dash in, and purchase popcorn at the concession stand. Movie attendance not necessarily required.

5:30 to 7 pm: Robust, locally sourced, appetizers with a cash bar follow the screening at The Winterset Livery (an event space that was once a horse livery, i.e., a parking garage for teams and buggies). The Livery is just around the square from the theater. The party is free to paid subscribers. Non-paid subscribers who paid $20 to attend the movie are also welcome at the after-party.

Please come! Our community of writers (and the community of wants to meet you and introduce you to one another. Here’s that link again to sign up for our event!
