A Facebook non-fan, I share posts from institutions I care about, like the Iowa Quilt Museum and the Iowa Theater, but I don’t bother with personal stuff very often, preferring to report from Quiltropolis (here) when I have something to say.
What a way to find a way to name a character! Quite a sacrifice for the sake of art. I’ve thought about finding my ice skates, but your story has convinced me my skating days are over.
My ice skates are a gorgeous pair my husband gave me for Christmas a few years ago, but like you I'm not sure I'll get on them again. BTW, I very much enjoyed your recent COMMON GROUND post about poet Kelsey Bigelow.
Oh, ouch, Marianne! I am so sorry this happened to you, but in spite of the injury, it sounds like you were having a wonderful time with loved ones. You have such a great attitude. You live a rich and fulfilling life which makes you truly blessed. Speedy healing, lady :)
I broke my humerus last January and had to have reverse shoulder replacement surgery to fix it. Everyone thought I must have slipped on ice, but I didn't--I tripped and fell forward. I obviously must have tried to break my fall with my arm. I also have weak bones because of osteoporosis and Multiple Myeloma. I wish I had just broken my wrist--it would have been a much easier recovery! I consider you lucky, Marianne!
PS: I look forward to reading the novel with Dr. Sugar one of these days!

What a fun way to hurt a wrist! And gain official "writer status" in the process! Feel better soon ...
Thank you for your kindness.
I hope you heal quickly. Love all the pictures!
It's coming along nicely, Sue.

You are nice. Thank you!
I am so glad that you had only a sprain.
Thank you, Heather. It's actually a fracture, i.e., a little beyond a sprain, but coulda been way worse!
Oh no!!! Hopefully it is healing up very quickly. (Look at that terrible reading comprehension🤦🏻♀️)

Ouch!
In the South, your new character's friends call him Shug. Oh, and I am certain that the hamburger looked so big because it was in the foreground.
Shug to the rescue!
Well at least you got a new character out of with Dr Sugar - better make the character good looking too! Speedy healing wishes to you!
